The Spirit River Airport was built in 1984 and is owned and operated by the Town of Spirit River. The airport is located on the north side of highway 49 on the northern border of the municipality. The primary uses of the airport are medevac services, crop dusting applications and general aviation activities. The Spirit River Airport has one asphalt runway bearing 06/24 serviced with an instrument approach. It is 3000’ long and 75’ wide. There is a short taxiway connecting the runway to a paved Apron and grass parking/tiedown area. Adjacent to the Apron is a gravel public parking area and a small terminal building with a washroom and water supplied via a reservoir. There are 4 hangars constructed along a graveled area east of the Apron.
